Faith Builders

Welcome!

Thanks for stopping by and seeing what we’re up to in FaithBuilders.   We are honored to spend time with your kids.   We are using a curriculum that goes through the Bible in chronological order and clearly teaches the attributes of God.   We love the way that it tells the Story, His Story, in a way that makes the message of His love and salvation easy to see.  Right now we are finishing up our study and will start over again in the spring.

Please feel free to stop down and chat with us, we'd love to share more specifics with you!

Scriptures:  Mark 14:32-65; 15:1 -19

Memory Verse:  Isaiah 53:7

"He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth."

This was a tough lesson.   We covered how Jesus was arrested and how much He suffered before the crucifixion.   We talked about how He reacted and how He took our punishment without even complaining.   The memory verse is one of the prophecies about how the Deliverer would suffer.   Next week the lesson is about the crucifixion, please pray for the kids and the teachers.

We will have a parent update meeting at 10:30 next Sunday, the 26th,  hope to see you there!

Memory Verse:   John 1:11-12

Scriptures:  Mark 14:32-35, 15:1-19

Today's lesson covered a lot of really important material.  We talked about how Jesus knew just where to tell the disciples to find the colt, how He entered Jerusalem on the colt and the people were hoping for deliverance from the Romans.   We also talked about how Judas made plans to betray Jesus and how even though Jesus knew this He gave him an opportunity to repent at the Last Supper.   We looked back at some of the prophecies about both of these events and emphasized that God has always had a plan to deliver us from our sins.

Feb. 5, 2012  Memory Verse:  Matt. 16:26

"What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?"

Today’s lesson was about the the foolishness of trusting in riches and the scriptures were from  Luke 12: 15-21; 16:19 - 31

The goal of this lesson was to be sure the kids understood that they must trust God alone.  Eternity is for real and for us to be welcomed into heaven we have to put our trust in Jesus, not in material stuff or our own good works.
